Jeff Bacon’s first Navy Times cartoon was published in March 1986 and “Broadside” appeared weekly until Navy Times ceased print publication in March of 2020. He was awarded the Silver T-Square award by the National Cartoonists Society, received a special recognition award from the Surface Navy Association, and was named a distinguished graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School (for the cartoons, not the grades).
